Visit from Josh Frydenberg - 1 April 2016
Our local (Federal) Member of Parliament, Josh Frydenberg, came to visit on the 1st of April. Josh was throwing his weight behind our grant application for electrical works and lighting, roof insulation,
roof repairs, floor sanding and floor coverings. He wrote: It’s wonderful to have 19 active scout groups in our local area and with over 1200 youth members the Boroondara District is one of the largest groups in Australia. It was terrific to visit the 4th Kew Scout Group in East Kew and be presented with a Victorian state scarf by Jack Brian, 4th Kew’s chief scout ambassador. Following the presentation I shared a left handed handshake with Jack and a salute with the group. |

Jelly and Euan are leaving us!
Hi Everyone
You may or may not have received Jelly's email today. Jelly and Euan have
decided to resign as Scout Leader at 4th Kew. It will be very sad to see them
both go and they need to be recognised for their amazing efforts with keeping
4th Kew Scout going. We will have their farewell on the 20th Aug at Rock
Climbing in Nunawading. Myself and Martin Vaughan will be taking over the
role of Scout Leaders and will continue with the program for the remainder of
the year. Please forward any Scout enquiries to myself.
As parents of Scouts this is now a great opportunity to consider taking up
a Leader position within Scouts for 4th Kew. We have a program to run until
the end of the year and we have a troop of Scouts that really love adventure and
helping one another. I am a fully trained Cub Leader but this is different from
leading Scouts therefore I will need to complete my Scout training to continue
as a leader. This said if we have new leaders come on board we are able to do
our training together and also gain expertise from Martin Vaughan, whois a fully
trained Scout Leader who has graciously decided to assist 4th Kew Scout Troop.
I can guarantee to you this is a very rewarding role and I love being
involved with 4th Kew and its families. Please consider and call me if you have
any questions.
Thanks
Simone Brian
