Scout camp locations

The following are locations that 4th Kew tends to visit for camps.  Sometimes they're a bit tricky to find.

Gilwell Park, Gembrook

Gilwell Park is located at 2555 Gembrook Launching Place Road (State Road Network Number C424), 5.5 km North from Gembrook  - 2008 Melway Map Ref.: 299 E 1. 

The Office (during office hours) can be found by entering Gateway No. 4  at Gilwell Park and going west along the driveway until you reach the first building on the left (i.e. South side of Sycamore Drive).

Elliott Lodge, Healesville

Elliott Lodge is located 9kms by road north of Healesville, on Chum Creek Rd (otherwise known as Healesville-Kinglake Rd). From Healesville, follow the signs to Kinglake.

The main entrance is 200 metres north of Joshua Road.

Clifford Park Scout Activity Centre

7 Clifford Dr, Wonga Park VIC 3115

A unique bush property in the suburbs at Wonga Park, only 35 kilometres east from the city of Melbourne. The Park is set on fifty acres of bush land owned by Scouts Australia surrounded on three sides by Warrandyte State Park and the Yarra River.

Cresco Park

Cresco Park is 5 ha of bushland adjoining the Warrandyte River at Pound Bend, Warrandyte.  It is the campsite of the Boroondara Scouts; owned by The Scout Association of Australia, Victorian Branch and managed by the Cresco Campsite Committee.

The Cresco Campsite Committee is a small group of volunteers.  Interested youth or adult members of the Scout Association are invited to join them in their work with the campsite.  Any assistance is welcomed.

Lal Lal State Park

Following directions are from Gordon (on the Western Highway). From western hwy head left into Gordon then take a right at the post office heading to Egerton and Yendon. Pass through Mount Egerton, travel an extra 11km to Yendon. Just before Yendon there is a train line. Take a left and drive beside the train line to Lal Lal (about 5km). From Lal Lal take a left onto Lal Lal Falls Rd for about 800m then turn right onto Ironmine Rd, take this to the end and follow sign down the hill at the end of road to "historic furnace".

 BAY WAC

(This is where the occasional Camberwell Showtime writing weekend is held)

Bay WAC or Bays Water Activity Centre is designed to be a hub for water activities.

It is conveniently located on the Elwood foreshore (Melway 67 B4) only metres from the beach and has ample grassed areas for activities as well as a bike path into the city.
