Anika's Scout Medallion hike (30 km) 6-9 June

Post date: May 19, 2014 7:29:24 AM

Anika is trying to complete her scout medallion, and in order to do this, she is organising a 30km hike along the Bellarine rail trail on the Queens Birthday weekend (6-9th June). The trail is flat as it is along a disused rail line so all abilities are welcome and encouraged to come.

We will depart on the Friday night (the 6th) to ensure enough hiking time and so we are not rushed! We will camp outside the Barwon Heads Scout Hall on the Friday night. On Saturday we'll walk to the Drysdale scout hall, where we'll spend the night. On Sunday, we will complete the walk to Queenscliff, then we will catch the Bellarine steam train back to Drysdale, where we'll be met by a couple of cars that will take us back to the Barwon Heads scout hall where we'll stay Sunday night. We will depart early on Monday so we can be back in Melbourne ASAP.

This is planned to be a very fun and relaxed camp. We should have plenty of spare time to have fun, play games and chill out! If your child has never hiked 30km before, this is a great one to start with. The Bellarine rail trail is nice and easy to hike.

Please let Anika know if you would like your scout/s to attend via email or phone. At scouts on Thursday, Anika will provide further information to the scouts who would like to come. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Anika on 0426381166.
